The proto-helicopter designed by Wilheim von Achenbach was probably the first to introduce a tail rotor to counteract the torque of the main blade. It would have been steam powered, a pipe from the engine carrying steam to drive the rotors.
This model differs from the illustrated example in the poster in that the rudder extrudes the main body, and the tail rotor is of a different design.
