FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH of one of the earliest sources on the Tartars and Mongols. ESTC states that the original text, which was bought from a Bucharan merchant by Swedish officers taken prisoner at the battle of Pultawa in 1709, was in Jagatale, with title transliterated: Shajare-ye Tork. It first appeared in a French translation (Leyden, 1726). The first edition of the original Tartar manuscript followed in 1825. Atabey 5 (refers to this second copy); cf. Brunet I, 19; not in Blackmer. (2)
