A Dutch walnut and burr-walnut longcase clock with ships automaton

The case of typical form, the arched moulded hood surmounted by three giltwood figural finials, cast lenticle with an urn, on ball and claw feet. The arched brass dial plate with silvered chapter ring signed H. Wilh. Feldman Amsterdam, matted centre with date aperture, sector for day of week with zodiac symbols, brass sweep seconds hand, above a polychrome painted scene with recessed arch with penny moon, five rocking ships and a swinging lady. The four pillar brass movement with the anchor escapement mounted below (mounted upside down), Dutch strike on two bells above; with two large weights, cranck key, door key and pendulum
