Details
Château Latour--Vintage 1985
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Lot 106 levels: two into neck, one bottom neck; two signs of old seepage, one lightly corroded capsule, one lightly scuffed label
Lot 107 levels: into neck; bin soiled labels
Lot 108 levels: ten into neck, two bottom neck; lightly bin soiled labels
Lot 109 levels: bottom neck or better; wrinkled and lightly bin soiled labels
Lot 110 levels: eight bottom neck, four very top shoulder; very lightly wrinkled labels, one lightly scuffed label
Lot 111 levels: nine bottom neck, three very top shoulder; very lightly wrinkled labels, four bin soiled labels
A recent bottle of '85 Latour was fantastic, with a deep, ripe plummy fruit character with a hint of licorice and a savory edge. On the palate the wine was silky, with supple tannins but impressive density and length. . At the races, Happy Valley. CC, January 2011
