Pétrus--Vintage 1979
Pomerol, cru exceptionnel
Levels: one into neck, one bottom neck; one nicked capsule, one wrinkled capsule, lightly oxidized capsules, one lightly torn label, one scuffed label, lightly bin soiled labels
"1979 Pétrus at a recent tasting was drinking well and charming, with an open, sexy Pomerol nose with hints of brown sugar, fig and plum and wild, slightly animal undercurrent- a truly classic wine from this estate. On the palate the wine was deep, succulent, and dynamic, with a structure that is still reasonably firm and a nice, lingering finish. Drinking well now, approaching maturity." At the 2010 Rare! Tasting in Detroit, CC, August 2010
