From a Khamsa of Nizami, goauche heightened with gold on paper, Bahram Gur having shot an arrow into the eye of the dragon proceeds to cut its head off, observed by an amazed courtier in a purple tunic who stands in upper right-hand corner, four columns of elegant nasta'liq above and below, reverse with four columns of nasta'liq and an elegant heading in a panel of gold and polychrome illuminated decoration, in excellent condition
Miniature 8 1/8 x 5 1/8in. (20.8 x 13.2cm.); folio 11½ x 7 5/8in. (29.3 x 19.5cm.)
