Nemon first met and sculptured Sir Winston Churchill at the La Mamounia Hotel in Marrakech in 1951 which led to a deep friendship between the two men. In 1952, Elizabeth II commissioned a bust of Churchill for Windsor Castle and Churchill chose Nemon as the sculptor. During the 1950s Nemon sculpted Churchill from life several times and his bronzes stand at the Houses of Parliament in London, Windsor Palace, and Bletchley Park amongst others.
