Accompanied by a copy of a Valuation for Insurance from Cartier London, describing a 'Captain Fantastic' brooch of yellow gold and red enamel, hallmarked 18ct yellow gold and engraved Cartier, Cartier London 1975. Dated 30th April 2009. (2)

The "Captain Fantastic" brooch in this lot is reputed to have been specially commissioned from Cartier in 1975 for the ninth studio album "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy," by Elton John, released in 1975. This was the first of his albums to debut at number 1.
The lot is accompanied by a copy of the "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy" record album, and a copy of a photograph of Elton John wearing the "Captain Fantastic" brooch, and Bernie Taupin, the songs lyricist, a "Brown Dirt Cowboy" brooch equivalent.
