Provenance
Vendor states that this ring was found by metal detector near the site of an Abbey in North Somerset.
Further details
The Treasure report from the British Museum states that though similar rings survive from the thirteenth century, the surface treatment of this example and complexion of the sapphire suggest that it was made at a later date.
