Surmounted by a faceted ovoid bowl with suspended mask finial, supported by a pair of sphinxes each set with a circular dish, the shaped base centered on each side with a winged putto and cartouche monogrammed AC, the underside of the sphinxes and feet stamped H. PICARD

A similar centerpiece by Picard, though lacking the towering upper tier shown on the present lot, was sold sotheby's, New York, 22 April 2010, lot 230 ($56,250).
