A similar figure by Mengin, entitled Semeuse d'étoiles and modeled as a draped nude against a crescent moon, is illustrated in the firm's 1910 sales catalogue (P. Cadet, Susse Frères: 150 Years of Sculpture, 1837-1987, Paris, 1992, p. 286).
