The rectangular top with two drop leaves above a ring-turned frame with double gatelegs, waisted feet, the underside incised THOMAS WOOTTON 1764 and with illegible chalk inscription

There is a Thomas Wootton of Reading, Berkshire, recorded working as a coachmaker and may be related to the maker who signed this table. He was the father of James, who was listed as a London cabinet-maker in 1762.
