The breche violette marble top above an egg-and-dart molding, and shaped foliate frieze centered by a shell, on cabriole legs with foliate claps on ball-and-claw feet

Lot Essay

This table takes its form from 18th century Irish precedents. One such table, virtually identical but with paw feet, was sold from the Estate of the antiquarian, the late Belinda Gentle, The Manor House at Milton Lilbourne, Dreweatt Neate, 14 September 2005, lot 812.
