Each with a rectangular pierced fret-carved back above a padded seat covered printed cotton and a fitted seat cover with a carved seat-rail, on paneled legs joined by a pierced H-stretcher, the feet tipped, one with ink number '1139X', with elm seat-rails (2)

The model of these chairs closely relates to designs by Thomas Chippendale for 'Chinese Chairs' published in the Third Edition of his The Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker's Director, 1762, No. XXVI.
