MARK OF HECTOR AGUILAR, TAXCO, 20TH CENTURY

In 1937, Hector Aguilar was hired by silver designer William Spratling to manage his workshop in Taxco. In 1939, Aguilar and his wife went into business for themselves and opened the Taller Borda, a shop that sold a variety of jewelry, holloware and flatware in Aguilar's distinctively abstract style.
