Each circular, the cast border with scrolling foliage and shells on a matted ground, the center flat chased with foliage and flowers, each engraved on reverse with a crest and struck with "RUNDELL BRIDGE ET RUNDELL AURIFICES REGIS LONDINI," each marked on reverse

The crest is that of Sutton.

These dessert plates formed part of a grand dinner service supplied to Sir Richard Sutton, 2nd Bt. (1798-1855) by Royal goldsmiths Rundell Bridge and Rundell. See lot 173 for the silver-gilt centerpiece candelabrum that was also supplied to Sutton.
