The present painting closely resembles a drawing of the sitter by Clouet in the Musée Condé, Chantilly, France (see A. Zvereva, Portraits dessinés de la cour des Valois. Les Clouet de Catherine de Médicis, Paris, 2011, p. 304, no. 261).
