CASE: with moulded top and twist columns to the hood, parquetry star inlays to the door and plinth; case reveneered on late 17th or 18th Century carcase, hood replaced, plinth rebuilt DIAL: 10 in. square gilt-brass dial with scored line border, signed along the lower edge 'Henry Younge in ye Strand', winged cherub spandrels to silvered chapter ring, matted centre with date aperture and subsidiary seconds ring, replaced blued steel hands MOVEMENT: five ringed pillars, anchor escapement and inside countwheel strike on bell, the back plate with scored line border, on replaced seatboard; two replaced weights, pendulum, case key
