A SPANISH MYTHOLOGICAL RECTANGULAR TILE PANEL
LATE 17TH - EARLY 18TH CENTURY
Comprising one hundred and five tiles, the centre painted in tones of blue and yellow with an oval cartouche enclosing a scene with Hercules scantily-draped in the foreground, a further figure of Hercules slaying a dragon in the background, within a rocky landscape with buildings in the distance, the blue-ground reserve painted with grotesques, masks and elaborate strapwork
