18TH CENTURY
Of thick irregular form, finely carved to one side in high relief with figures outside a terraced pavilion, including a scholar grasping a tall gnarled staff, with one hand on the shoulder of a boy holding a lingzhi branch, next to two further boys carrying a ruyi sceptre and vase, the reverse depicted with a pair of deer below a pavillion, all set within a mountain landscape, surrounded by pine and wutong trees and amidst swirling clouds, the stone of a deep rich green colour with fine black speckling
