A BLUE AND WHITE 'DOUBLE-XI' BOWL
DAOGUANG SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
With steep sides rising to a slightly flared rim, painted in shades of of cobalt blue with four double xi characters, each surmounted by a bat and interspersed by upright hibiscus blooms, all amongst stylised scrolling leafy peach and lotus sprays, between narrow horizontal double lines around the foot and below the rim
8 3/8 in. (21.2 cm.) diam.
