A FINE LARGE EARLY MING CARVED LONGQUAN CELADON BARBED-RIM BOWL
MING DYNASTY, 14TH/15TH CENTURY
The sturdily-potted deep bowl moulded with fluted walls extending from the straight foot to the bracketed rim, the interior carved with an open flower within a combed quatrefoil panel, surrounded by four scrolling peonies separated by leafy stems, a band of keyfret within combed borders along the rim, the outermost border repeated on the undecorated exterior, all under an attractive green glaze pooling in the recesses, the unglazed firing ring on the underside and parts of the foot ring oxidised to a rusty orange tone
