The present bowl appears to be one of the few bowls without the fifth claw of the dragons being obscured. Another such example is in the Tianminlou Foundation, illustrated by J. Ayers, Chinese Porcelain: the S.C. Ko Tianminlou Collection, Part II, Hong Kong, 1987, pl. 91.

A similar Kangxi-marked bowl where the fifth claw of the dragon has been obscured by an overglaze enamel, was sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 1 June 2011, lot 3512. Also an example of this pattern but in dish form is illustrated by J. Ayers, Chinese Ceramics in the Baur Collection, vol. 2, Geneva, 1999, p. 37.
