YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN DOUBLE-SQUARES AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)

A pair of lemon-yellow-enamelled 'bubble' wine-cups of this type with Yongzheng marks, from the Paul and Helen Bernat collection, were sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 15 November 1988, lot 59; another pair from a private English collection sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 27 October 2003, lot 702. A single cup from the collection of Dr. Ip Yee, was included in the Min Chiu Society exhibition, An Anthology of Chinese Ceramics, Hong Kong Museum of Art, 1980, illustrated in the Catalogue, no. 128. Another pair of yellow cups with four-character Yongzheng marks, in the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, Stockholm, is illustrated by Jan Wirgin, Chinese Ceramics from the Axel and Nora Lundgren Bequest, 1978, pl. 59a, no. 79.
