注意事项
Prospective purchasers are advised that several countries prohibit the importation of property containing materials from endangered species, including but not limited to coral, ivory, tortoiseshell and crocodile. Accordingly, prospective purchasers should familiarize themselves with relevant customs regulations prior to bidding if they intend to import this lot into another country. On occasion, Christie's has a direct financial interest in lots consigned for sale which may include guaranteeing a minimum price or making an advance to the consignor that is secured solely by consigned property. This is such a lot. This indicates both in cases where Christie's holds the financial interest on its own, and in cases where Christie's has financed all or a part of such interest through a third party. Such third parties generally benefit financially if a guaranteed lot is sold successfully and may incur a loss if the sale is not successful.

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial, raised hour markers in gold and tachometer scale in 1943 and its subsequent sale on 14 July 1944.

This reference 1518 is a very attractive and well preserved example of this iconic model, combining the vintage style of the 1940s and modernised post war 1950s design rendering it a very unique look.

The present reference 1518 stands out by its very appealing, clean overall condition. Clearly seldom used, it shows only light signs of surface wear; the case is rich and retains strong case proportions for a nearly 70 years old wristwatch. The gold mark to the case band is clearly visible and crisp.

The present reference 1518 is a highly collectable example for the aficionado of this landmark model.
