8o (215 x 133 mm). 9 large hand-colored folding maps and 3 small engraved maps. (A few tiny holes to folds of folding maps, some light browning to text.) Contemporary red half morocco and marbled boards (chipping and light wear to spine ends and corners).
Second enlarged edition with four additional maps. The large hand-colored folding maps include "Map of the Seat of War in North America," "A Map of the Southern Section of the United States including the Floridas & Bahama Islands Shewing the Seat of War in that Department," "Map of the Seat of War among the Creek Indians," "Map of the American Coast, from Lynhaven Bay to Narraganset Bay," "Map of Detroit River and Adjacent Country," "Map of the River St. Lawrence and Adjacent Country from Williamsburg to Montreal," "East End of Lake Ontario and River St. Lawrence from Kingston to French Mills," "Map of New Orleans and Adjacent Country," "Quebec and Adjacent Country." The small maps include: "View of the Country round the Falls of Niagara," "East End of Lake Ontario," "Plan of Montreal, with a Map of the Islands & adjoining Country," John Melish, a Scottish cartographer, moved to Philadelphia in 1811.
