Lot Essay

The Fender Elite was launched in 1983. This guitar is a hybrid with a 1950s-style neck with a butterscotch finish and a standard selector switch.
Eric Clapton said that he "messed around" with this guitar. The guitar was photographed backstage at Yoyogi Olympic Pool, Tokyo beside a selection of his stage guitars during Clapton's 1985 Japanese Tour.
