Decorated in gold, silver and black hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, hirame and nashiji with scenes from the Tale of Genji with courtiers on a veranda in front of a formal garden with pine, the sides with further courtiers in a boat on a river and on horseback, decorated all over with mon, the interior containing a handled tray with various items for the incense game from another set
