Each of bamboo and rattan and intricately woven using various techniques, fitted wood box signed Shokosai sei kore and sealed Shokosai

Lot Essay

Hayakawa Shokosai I (1815-1897) was born in Echizen province (Fukui prefecture), and worked in Osaka. He taught Hayakawa Shokosai II and Shokosai III.
