Araki Juppo (1872-1944). A Japanese style painter, born in Nagasaki-ken. As a pupil and adopted son of Araki Kampo (1831-1915), he lived in Tokyo. He was an exhibitor and juror at the Bunten and an exhibitor at the Teiten. Noted for his strong brush work, his work is closer to the Shijo school than to the Chinese inspired style of his master.
