From the surimono series Suru ichi [First of a Set of Companions] commissioned by the Taikogawa poetry club, an Oharame wood cutter and a child resting beside an ox, the poem reads

Senkin no This beautiful spring day
haru no atai ya is more precious than a thousand pieces of gold
hiku ushi no I wish that my child when he grows up
chikara kurabe yo will be strong
tokai no kodakara and fight like an ox
