Edo period (17th century)
A substantial even shallow-curved osuriage blade, bright itame-hada with pronounced masame on the shinogi-ji, the hamon of gunome midare with choji, kawazu-no-ko choji, and tobiyaki, increasing in activity and widening to the shinogi in the upper part of the blade forming an ichimai boshi, the osuriage tang with three mekugi-ana, sujikai file marks, and kiri-jiri, the koshirae with red and black lacquer saya with black floral motifs, fuchi kashira of copper alloy inlaid with vines and thatched roof, menuki of helmets and fans, with a lead tsuba engraved with scrolling tendrils, 65.5cm. long
