Accompanied by a certificate of registration as a Tokubetsu Kicho [Especially Valuable Sword], no.152162 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai [Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword] on 13th October 1968
The smith was born in 1643 and became the adopted son of Yamato daijo Kanehiro (see Lot 434). He received the title Totomi no kami in 1698. A sword made in 1723 inscribed with his age of 81 attests to the length of his active career.
