Tasting note: Deeply saturated color. Tight nose at first as the 2005 is slow to reveal itself; keeps getting better as it sits in the glass. Ultimately, we get an imperious bouquet thats deep, complex, and intense. The aromatics include ripe, macerated fruits, oriental spice, cedar, tobacco, and mocha; unmistakenly Bordeaux. On the palate, the wine is beautifully balanced, obviously young, concentrated, opulent, and relatively dry. Still, there is a suaveness and elegance that comes through.
