Lot Essay

This transitional Louis XVI salon suite design was made popular during the 1890s inspired by the sale of the period example from the collection of Mme. D' Yvon in Paris 1892, through Galerie Georges Petit. See Christopher Payne 19th Century European Furniture, Antique Collectors Club, 1981, p.187.
