Contemporary French tan morocco gilt, sides with Dubuisson plaque [for signed examples see Abbey sale, Sotheby's, 19 June 1967, lot 1605], arms of Marie-Josephe de Saxe painted in body-colour on paper and mounted at centre of covers within red leather on-lay frame, fragments of original mica over-lay, flat spine with Saxe heraldic motifs, gilt edges (light wear at edges and corners and central frame, pastedowns partly removed). Provenance: Marie-Josephe de Saxe (1731-1767, wife of Louis, dauphin of France, son of Louis XV; binding).
