Hardy, Captain'), Victory, 10 January 1806, A CERTIFICATE FOR A SEAMAN KILLED AT TRAFALGAR, 'These are to certify that Stephen Sabine served in the 3rd Class on board His Majesty's ship under my command from the 23rd day of April 1803 to the 21st day of October 1805 at which time he was killed in action with the combined fleets off Trafalgar and is entitled to share Prize Money for all captures made during the said time', one page, 4to, bifolium, covering letter by Hardy's secretary to Sabine's father on verso, integral address panel, dockets, postal markings.

The document is signed on the day after Nelson's great funeral at St Paul's Cathedral, at which Hardy carried the 'banner of emblems'.
