Lot Essay

Anegada in the British Virgins is where these ladyfish were watched, sporting with a conch. The conch, it is tobe noted, is sinistral in the picture, a very rare event in Nature and introduced in the image for compositional reasons. Ladyfish are seen by stooping or kneeling rather than diving, since they live in the shallows close to mangroves and behind barrier beaches.
