Lot Essay

An Irish circular table bearing the stamp of Dublin makers Wiliams and Gibton (active 1829-1842) features similar hipped legs with carved paw feet and typical ribbed top. The table was sold anonymously, Christie's, London, 6 February 1997, lot 171 (£21,850).
