Of waisted cylindrical form, painted with a lion seated on a tile floor, facing a label for 'DIA IRIS', within a robbiana surround, the reverse with a swirl and geometric pattern

Lot Essay

The present drug jar is labeled for a compound made from the iris plant rhizome. Drug jars related to the present example were in the Gambier-Parry Collection and in the former Adda Collection.
