Jafet Torrelli is listed as showing ceramic works at the Melbourne International Exhibition of 1880 and at the Paris Universelle Exposition of 1878. In C.B. Black's 1890 guide book on The Riviera, he notes that "In Torelli's factory are produced artistic imitations of medieval ware and cleverly modeled terra-cotta statuettes." Torrelli is also recorded as one of the leading painters at the Ginori factory until 1873, when he established his own workshop in Florence.
