This box is nearly identical to a large group with various attributions. One is illustrated in W. D. Wixom (Renaissance Bronzes from Ohio Collections, exh. cat., Cleveland, 1975, no. 76) -- but it is the more unusual variant which has grotesque figures at the corners forming feet.
