FIVE EGYPTIAN JASPER AMULETS
NEW KINGDOM TO PTOLEMAIC PERIOD, 1550-30 B.C.
Including a light green scaraboid, Ptolemaic Period, perforated along its length, inscribed with hieroglyphs, tentatively reading: "Amen-Re is my Lord(?);" a dark green scarab, likely New Kingdom, perforated along its length, with the underside inscribed with hieroglyphs, reading: Amen-Re is (my) Lord(?);" a red head of Bes, New Kingdom, carved with small eyes, a wide button nose and an open mouth, with a deeply furrowed brow and cheek folds, wearing a feather headdress, a suspension loop above; a green scarab with black inclusions, likely Late Period, the underside uninscribed; and a green scaraboid, Ptolemaic Period, perforated along its length, inscribed with hieroglyphs, reading: "Temple chamber of the Ram/Ba Himself(?)"
