A PAIR OF GREEK GOLD GOAT HEAD EARRINGS
HELLENISTIC PERIOD, CIRCA LATE 4TH CENTURY B.C.
Each with a hoop of braided wire tapering to a single wire that hooks through a loop on the underside of goat-head terminals, the head emerging from a collar ornamented with filigree tongues, joined to a hollow sphere ornamented with granulation, the goats with short horns emerging from their raised polls, with small convex eyes and tapering snouts
