A CELTIC GOLD BRACELET
CIRCA LATE 5TH-EARLY 4TH CENTURY B.C.
Formed from a stout hollow tube, one end fitting into the other, with a circular perforation through both ends for insertion of a pin, the surface ornamented in relief, divided into four quadrants, each with a facing head, triangular in form, with striated hair, pointed brows that merge with the slender nose, almond-shaped eyes, an open mouth and a rounded chin, the heads arranged in adorsed pairs, the quadrants each filled with pairs of scrolling motifs, the interstices filled with striations, the quadrants divided by raised collars framed by thin hatched bands
