With rebrowned swamped sighted barrels each signed 'H.W. MORTIMER & CO. LONDON. GUN MAKERS TO HIS MAJESTY' towards the breech and engraved with a band of running foliage at the breech, engraved tangs, signed plain flat bevelled bolted locks each with stepped tail (one cock replaced, one steel with small dent to tip), figured walnut stocks each with plain rounded butt (some bruising, one butt cracked through and repaired), engraved brass mounts, brass escutcheons each engraved with initials, and later horn-tipped ramrods, London proof marks
