Reconverted from percussion, each with rebrowned twist octagonal sighted barrel inscribed 'GUN MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY' towards the breech, engraved recessed patent breech with gold line and gold-lined maker's stamp 'T. MORTIMER LONDON', engraved tang incorporating a rear-sight, engraved flat bevelled detented bolted lock signed 'T. MORTIMER' (one side-nail replaced), figured walnut half-stock with chequered butt (one pommel with old chip), set trigger, engraved iron mounts comprising spurred trigger-guard and trigger-plate with pineapple finial, engraved silver pommel-cap and fore-end cap, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, and later brass-mounted ramrods each with worm, London proof marks, in a lined and fitted mahogany case with trade label of Thomas Elsworth Mortimer, the exterior with flush-fitting brass carrying-handle and circular brass escutcheon
