The first with iron bow retaining original cord strings, walnut tiller with chequered grip, iron mounts engraved with decorative borders, scrollwork and game scenes, the folding rear-sight signed 'BOLTON WIGAN', the fore-end signed 'BOLTON'S IMPROVED CROSS BOW', and silver escutcheon engraved with initials (fore-sight posts missing, iron parts discoloured, tiller cracked and repaired around mechanism and on butt); the second of characteristic form with shaped horn nocks, green textile covered grip, and numbered '46'
