A steam yacht of The New Brighton Yacht Club at 'The Tail of the Bank' on the Clyde

The blue ensign and blue pennant at the mainmast of this steamer indicate that the owner is a member of a privileged yacht club and is on board and in effective command. The blue pennant bearing only a white anchor indicates the New Brighton Yacht Club (no longer in existence) established in 1870 (Lloyd's Yacht Register, 1891).
