Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste--Vintage 1985
Pauillac, 5me cru classé
In original wooden case. Slightly bin-soiled labels
Tasting note: Developing fragrantly through the 1990s; cedary, soft, rich, a charmer. Several more bottles tasted or consumed so far this century, all showing well. Most recently, fairly deep, mature, 'rich, ripe and ready'; fragrant, spicy-cinnamon and mace, crisp fruit; sweet, delicious flavour. Good length and enough tannin to take it effortlessly into the next decade. Last tasted Oct 2004 ****(*) M.B.
